As a healthcare staffing company, Medical Staffing Network Travel is in the business of caring. That sense of responsibility for the health and welfare of others extends to the safety and well-being of those around us, whether it is our corporate employees and their families, our field staff, friends, neighbors, or our clients and business partners. The objective of our corporate social responsibility program is to contribute positively to the community, the lives of our employees and the patients in their care, and others, while remaining aware of the social and environmental impact of our business practices and those of our suppliers.
While the Company and our employees support a wide range of local and national non-profits, we are especially passionate about organizations that focus on the promotion of health and well-being. Medical Staffing Network Travel is proud to host the Nurse of the Month contest and participate in The DAISY Program. Both programs recognize nurses from all around the country every month and fulfill our mission of creating a culture of clinical growth and appreciation.
DAISY is a non-profit that was designed to say thank you to the nursing profession, as truly "unsung heroes," honoring the super-human work nurses perform at the bedside every day. Nurses are recognized with the "The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses" and other gifts, as well as name recognition from Medical Staffing Network Travel, our clients and the DAISY Foundation. The award is in collaboration with the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) and has the support of The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Magnet Recognition Program.
DAISY is an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System. In 1999 the Foundation was formed by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, who at age 33 died of complications of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP).
